In the spring-summer 25 collection, Maria Smirnova’s founder and creative director, along with the team, reinterpreted the image of the jellyfish, its eternal life, reincarnation and internal strength. The collection dives into the mysterious world of nature, where every element — from marine inhabitants to field flowers — reflects the unity of all natural and living things. The jellyfish silhouettes are becoming a central collection and one of the main elements of the prince. They are surrounded by spindle pins in different colour combinations and are used in frigid chiffon and tricotage. The little spot drawing refers to animal «skins» by no accident — the team’s deep reflexes of mimicry, instincts, and accumulation of internal powers and superpowers.
Inspired vintage objects and natural artifacts are used to create the collection. For example, the key element was a random discovery — an auspicious plastic basket of animal and marine stories seen in a vintage shop in Almaty. «I was very excited about this object found from the Soviet period, about its detail, naivety and relevance. I’ve been looking at every detail and turn of the story. As a result, the collection produced many items from a variety of auspicious materials using laser cutters — eco-skins, a fortress. We’ve developed silhouettes that reproduce stories from a basket where both fish and jellyfish can be found, and we’ve created lace knits without a plot, but in the exact style of the object found. This is the first time we’ve worked with laser cutting technology on this scale. It was very interesting,» notes designer Maria Smirnova. Laser cutting was used, among other things, to create applications from corrugated tapes. They were used in the trim with hand embroidered rations.
The main materials were thin cotton, silk, perforated eco-skin, viscosity, corrugated polyester. These tissues, combined with a color gamma that resembles the palette of insects and seawaters, create an atmosphere of ephemerality and natural beauty. A single-ton position in black, white, and vanilla shades is a contrast for high-intensity phantoms, creating visual dynamics. The collection consisted of trousers and camouflaged tops made of corrugated hoops, dresses and skirts performed in front of them, shirts filled with silk stripes, blouses, skirts, and capes in designer dents. They supplement SS25 T-shirts with image images of black jellyfish and as if they were living, leaking baskets with the ironic motto «have a nice day». The soundtrack for the collection was a song by Tequillajaz, «The Beast», which connects all the elements into a single picture — a combination of anxiety, ephemerality, disappearance, survival instinct, superpowers and internal power, mystical stories, and the unity of all natural and living.
