January evenings

The 19th Art Festival poster series, «January evenings», is based on the story of Michael Hokhlov, «War of the Planets», for the music of the Modeste cycle of the Musorg Carterca. Graphics are based on shapes and gradients that resemble fragments of a spaceship. They create a sense of motion and energy by passing on the drama of fairy tales and contrasting music. Orbital lines and dots function as metaphors of planetary trajectory and musical party. Each event of the festival receives its own color palette, but is combined with a common visual system. The result is a series of modern posters where hard printing and dynamic graphics form a single image of the festival, connecting music, art, and children’s imagination.
