The project «shi» was created in conjunction with Anastasia Alexeyevska as part of a wrcshop in module 1 of the master’s degree. The work was supervised by Leonid Slavin. The work began with the search for visual metaphors for the word «cold». We wanted to do something honest and warm. Often, the magician has a strict identic, a medical one, a «serious tool for serious tasks». We thought that leaving is not just about protecting the skin, but also about how we treat ourselves. Physicality, sensitivity, internal care. We’ve decided to move away from this idea and remove everything, just the most important thing.
Our package concept received a silver award for «The World Brand Design Society Awards» in student works around the world.
The World Brand Design Society Awards (WBDS Awards) is a prestigious international award and rating system that celebrates outstanding achievements in consumer and corporate branding, packaging, and visual support.
«This year’s WBDS Study Design Awards showed an exceptional level of competition, as judges and editors adhered to strict standards throughout the evaluation process. Of the hundreds of jobs presented by students around the world, only 128 projects were selected for award. This resulted in 1 black, 9 gold, 34 silver, 56 bronze and 29 awards.» — World Brand Design Society, Study Design Awards, Winners 2025/26
I’m glad that this project was highly appreciated in an international competition: the ability to compete in the world design arena confirms the high level of training at the ICU School of Design. In addition, this success brought the Design School extra points in the overall rating of the schools, where it ranked second in the current school year and in total in the entire period.
