KNOT — lamp THREAD collection
KNOT lamp and THREAD collection of navigation equipment with outdoor furniture elements were designed and manufactured in 2024 in collaboration with MR Group developer for CHESS residential complex as a bachelor’s degree project at the Furniture Design Faculty of the Stroganov Moscow State University of Design and Applied Arts.

THREAD = ART + NAVIGATION + OUTDOOR FURNITURE
Dimensions of the lamp: 1860×400×350mm.
The main material of the collection — hot rolled steel pipe D110mm with powder coating RAL 5002.
The KNOT lamp is part of the THREAD prototype, but it is freestanding, so it can be exposed and placed without the rest of the structure.
The production process (3 photos).
There are 4 street lamp modules in the collection, 2 of which are free-standing. Maintenance of the lanterns takes place through an inspection window at a height of 50 cm from the floor.
COLLECTION.
The main elements of the collection are tangle and knot art objects with «threads» scattered around the residental complex and intuitively guiding the user around the location.
THREAD is inspired by the winding Chermyanka River near the CHESS residental complex, the tangle and sports markings because the idea of the residental complex is a space for playing.
THREAD furniture in the architectural environment, on the one urban block plan of the residental complex.
THREAD is a modular system of 18 modules that pass through the entire residental complex with different combinations that have an infinite number of variations and an impressive length to show the direction with intuitive navigation.
Modules for temporary standing and sitting and classic outdoor furniture — benches, navigation pole and litter bin module.
The composition for couriers consists of two modules — a backpack shelf of different heights and a bicycle parking. The composition can be angular and has to be placed at the entrance for the convenience of couriers.
Interactive modules for playgrounds: a wave with balls that spin on their axis and up and down, and freestanding animal modules on which you can climb, play with a ball or move the balls.
The main material of the collection — hot rolled steel pipe D110mm with powder coating RAL 5002.
The soft seat material — Sixinch FLEXPLUS coating on soft polyurethane foam; the material of bench seats — perforated stainless steel sheet.
The balls D190mm materials — impregnated wood / plastic / FLEXPLUS.
The lamp — opaque plastic D160mm IP65.
Modularity is also in the fact that almost all compositions except sculptural ones can be assembled from only 7 types of segments.
