Concept and Function

The names in the series are Russian words, written in Latin script to capture their phonetics and imagery, aligning with the objects' characteristics. The table, RAKETA, is stylized as a rocket, with a triangular base and circular cutouts resembling portholes, providing stable support for the round tabletop.

The shapes serve a functional purpose, defining the objects' roles. The table functions as a dining set and doubles as an art piece, adding new emotions to everyday use. The LEDENEC chair, with its three legs and circular backrest, resembles a lollipop. The seat’s soft edging reveals the cross-shaped support, making the chair easy to move.

The design embraces expressive colors, minimalism, clarity, and logic. Inspired by Rodchenko’s principles, we created this series to reflect modern times and needs, while conveying the values of the Russian avant-garde. The first place to test these objects was in the apartment of Studio Zavod11.

Technique, Technology, Materials

The RAKETA table is crafted using 5 mm sheet steel and MDF with an enamel finish.

— The base is made from 5 mm steel sheet, cut with a laser jet. After welding seams are polished, it is powder-coated. — The MDF tabletop is cut and milled on a CNC machine. — It undergoes sanding, priming, more sanding, and is then sprayed with the final color. A glossy polyurethane lacquer is applied as the finishing touch.

LEDENEC Chair Specification

Materials: — Metal tube with diameter 26 mm — Velvet fabric — Foam — Plywood base

Construction: — The chair frame is made from 26 mm diameter metal tubing and 10 mm crossbars. After welding seams are polished, it is powder-coated. — The seat (diameter 420 mm) and backrest (diameter 200 mm) are cut using a CNC machine. The foam padding is shaped and covered with velvet fabric, with internal seams stitched.
