The FOODIE mirror. This idea is inspired by reflecting on food and table setting. How, where and what do we eat? Is it a routine or an art? And how do we set the table, where do we start? With the tablecloth or the decanter? These and many other questions have given rise to the thought that the very first thing in the food chain is our mouth — the most important tool without which table setting is basically meaningless. We eat and begin to savor dishes, which paves our way to becoming gourmets. At this point I realized that my answer is: eating and setting table is an art.
it difficult to immediately guess the mouth because of the complex shape the mirror makes. If we look closely, we can distinguish the narrowing of the frame towards the corners of the «mouth», and the folds of the lips, and the «Cupid’s arch». The mirror is made of a solid MDF board: the shape is made using a CNC machine, the edges («lip folds») are hand-processed. The mirror is painted with white enamel. On the reverse side — MDF 6 mm.
The «New Interior» carpentry production together with the author of the project teamed up to create this modern product in compliance with environmental safety standards. The complex product was realized in the shortest time, preserving the author’s idea and making it a real piece of art!
