At Vesper Tverskaya, the «city-forming» elements became the works of French designer Mathieu Lehanneur. When we first entered the apartment, Artem instantly «saw» Lehanneur’s pieces in the interior. At that moment, there were no measurements yet—finishing work was still actively underway. But our intuition didn’t fail us: the designer’s objects made the interior feel magical.

We literally curated the entire interior from gallery-level furniture and art pieces. The leitmotif of French design became the signature highlight of the space.

Each piece by designer Mathieu Lehanneur is a standalone work of art — authentic and unique. The Pillars console, crafted from green Irish marble, and the Inverted Gravity coffee table with its marble top and glass base, anchor the space. The charm and sculptural fluidity of these French pieces — their elegant, naïve forms and play on gravity — formed the core concept of the interior.

We came up with one particular approach that we can honestly call a decorative solution. We wanted to create the feeling of a collector’s apartment, someone who’s been gathering pieces for years, bringing them from different corners of the world. Each item holds absolute value for its owner. That’s the story we imagined for ourselves.

We were curious to try an unconventional combination—pairing collectible furniture pieces by European designers with artworks by Russian artists. The union turned out to be both refined and remarkably successful.

We came up with several pairings: in the main living area, there’s a round wall piece by Alisa Spots alongside the Pillar console by Mathieu Lehanneur. In the bedroom, we created a composition featuring a Rimadesio nightstand, a Germans Ermics chair, and another artwork by Alisa Spots.

Most of the shades in this interior are light and airy, with a pastel, creamy palette. The soft neutral tones are enhanced by accents: gradient-colored glass, a green console, a blue art piece, and the upholstered sofa in the study.

The study reveals a harmonious contrast between linear design elements — such as the Hector shelving unit by Vincent van Duysen (Molteni&C), the Scriba desk by Patricia Urquiola (Molteni&C), and the Barbican task chair by Rodolfo Dordoni —and more sculptural, voluminous pieces like the Marenco sofa by Mario Marenco (Arflex), Pion and Vesper side tables by Sancal, and the Capitol Complex chair designed by Pierre Jeanneret (Cassina).
